About NCASC
Serving North Carolina schools since 1926.
Since it was founded, the North Carolina Association of Student Councils has existed with one clear purpose: to empower students to lead. In 1926, educators and community leaders across North Carolina recognized the power of student voice to shape schools for the better. They united around a bold idea—that student councils could be more than a voice for their schools; they could be a force for growth, service, and change.
A century later, that vision still drives us. NCASC exists to give young leaders—and their adult advisers—the skills, experiences, and connections they need to inspire others and shape the future of their schools, communities, and beyond.
Affiliated with the National Association of Student Councils, the Southern Association of Student Councils, the National Association of State Student Council Executive Directors and the National Association for Student Activities, we offer leadership training experiences for our members throughout the year. Some of these opportunities include:

- Emerging Leaders Conference
- Annual State Convention
- Adviser Advance Conference
- Summer Leadership Workshop
- Participation in national conferences
- Adviser training and professional learning at our state events
- Membership networking opportunities
Each year we recognize our members through a number of awards including the Adviser of the Year Award, Administrator of the Year Award, Middle School/High School Honor Council Awards, Distinguished Service Award, NCASC Hall of Fame, and others.
Our governing body is the NCASC Executive Board, elected by member schools.
